Colostrum: Three Times More Effective Than Flu Vaccine!
Natural protection against bacterial and viral infection is required for the survival of humans. The undisputed powerhouse in this category is first milk colostrum, a mother’s gift of protection to the newborn child. It is clearly associated with fewer digestive and respiratory infections.
First milk bovine colostrum, since it can be commercially produced and used by humans, has been the subject of many studies. Scientists have identified many of its immune boosting activities and have suggested it as a potential tool to help combat flu. It has even been proposed as a nutrient to help with the problems of HIV infection.
In addition to the natural antibodies present in first milk colostrum a new study demonstrates that it is also the unique carbohydrate structures (sialic acid viral decoys) that are found in bovine colostrum and other concentrated whey protein products that offer significant protection. This is a very clever mechanism, as a virus is looking for a sialic acid molecule thinking it is a human cell to infect.
Bovine Colostrum Benefits
Colostrum can help improve almost every single area of your entire body! Here are just a few points about how you could benefit from taking colostrum supplements:
Overall Immune System Support – Prevents The Flu BETTER THAN THE FLU SHOT!
That’s right! A study showed that “Colostrum, both in healthy subjects and high-risk cardiovascular patients, is more effective than vaccination to prevent flu and is very cost-effective.”
Dr Maria Cesarone from Italy published her study in 2007 in which she compared the efficacy of oral colostrum to that of influenza vaccination in preventing flu illness. Dr Cesarone found a two month treatment with oral colostrum was three times more effective in preventing flu illness than was influenza vaccination.
So forget injecting yourself with some foreign virus when you can supplement yourself with truly natural immune support!
Prevention of influenza episodes with colostrum compared with vaccination in healthy and high-risk cardiovascular subjects of the epidemiologic study in San Valentino showed:
The efficacy of a 2-month treatment with oral colostrum in the prevention of flu episodes compared with antiinfluenza vaccination was evaluated. Groups included healthy subjects without prophylaxis and those receiving both vaccination and colostrum. After 3 months of follow-up, the number of days with flu was 3 times higher in the non-colostrum subjects. The colostrum group had 13 episodes versus 14 in the colostrum + vaccination group, 41 in the group without prophylaxis, and 57 in nontreated subjects. Part 2 of the study had a similar protocol with 65 very high-risk cardiovascular subjects, all of whom had prophylaxis. The incidence of complications and hospital admission was higher in the group that received only a vaccination compared with the colostrum groups. Colostrum, both in healthy subjects and high-risk cardiovascular patients, is at least 3 times more effective than vaccination to prevent flu and is very cost-effective…
In a mouse model of influenza published by Dr. Wong in 2014, the authors found:
“Colostrum supplementation enhanced NK cell cytotoxicity and improved the immune response to primary influenza virus infection in mice.”….
“Colostrum-supplemented mice demonstrated less reduction in body weight after influenza infection, indicating a less severe infection, increased NK cell cytotoxicity, and less virus burden in the lungs compared with controls.”.
Anti-Inflammatory Properties
Among others, colostrum contains cytokines and infopeptides. Cytokines have been shown to mediate numerous vital biological processes, including inflammation. 12 Infopeptides are a protein derivative that reduce inflammation as well as allow the immune system to reorient and correct its response mechanism against autoimmune disease processes. Clinical observations of the effects of infopeptides in humans show reductions in inflammation, edema, pain and fever apparently regardless of cause.
