Enjoy this summer by protecting your skin with the Top3 natural nutrients!

βιολογικό αντηλιακό

If you’re looking for a better way to get some sun protection, then you may need to consider choosing a biological sunscreen with natural ingredients. There are of course a slew of sunscreens on the market, but the majority of what you find in the average department or drug store contain numerous chemicals, artificial scents and colors, chemical preservatives that morph into toxic formaldehyde, and pore-clogging ingredients meant to screen out the sun’s burning rays.

While these natural oils are not meant to screen out the majority of the sun’s rays, they provide a level of protection without all the other unwanted toxic ingredients for reasonable periods of time in the sun. Further, they will allow some of the sun’s rays to reach your skin so that you may manufacture the all too important vitamin D. They have another bonus too, many of them will leave you with baby soft, healthy skin – and most also contain other skin-friendly vitamins, fatty acids and other nutrients and antioxidants.

Argan Oil

Argan oil is being considered a “miracle ingredient” and rightfully so with it’s high levels of vitamin E, F, antioxidants and fatty acids, no wonder it is referred to as “liquid gold”. Great for anti-aging, moisturizing and protecting your skin.  Since argan oil has high levels of vitamin E (antioxidant), it helps to fight free radicals and protect the skin.  The fatty acids in argan oil make it great for loss of elasticity, reducing inflammation and for moisturizing.  Forget the spa, time to lather up with this amazing oil. An active ingredient called Triterpenoids occurs in argan oil that provides amazing skin protection benefits, such as tissue healing for scars, anti-inflammatory and sun-protection.

Avocado Oil

For millennia, humans have been using vegetable oils and fats to protect their skin. Unliker other oils, it is not derived from the seeds. Avocado oil is pressed from the pulp of Persea Americana fruit also known as avocado. Avocado is regarded as the healthiest food for the health. The consumption of avocado enhances skin, circulatory functions and balance hormones. As it is extracted from the flesh of avocado, it is loaded with medicinal and nutritional benefits so it is used in cosmetics for moisturizing and regenerative properties. It has high content of Vitamin E in comparison to olive oil. It also contains a lot of healthy fatty acids such as linoleic acid and oleic acid, and a very large amount of natural vitamins.
Thanks to its high palmitic acid content, avocado oil is very easily absorbed by the human skin, keeping it firm and smooth. The skin surface is coated with a thin, protective layer that guards it against direct external influences so it functions perfectly as a sun protection agent.

Spirulina Extract

Also called blue-green algae, spirulina offers an antiaging boost with its antioxidant-rich pigment phycocyanin that makes it a popular superfood supplement. Topically, spirulina defends against free radical damage by creating a barrier of natural sun protection with a high concentration of beta-carotene, a carotenoid that also evens skin tone. Spirulina is one of the primary sources of beta-carotene on the planet. Although the sun-protective benefits of spirulina are still new to science, the ingredient holds promise for sunscreens. Like other algae, spirulina also balances skin’s natural pH, preventing irritation and infection. You’ll find it also in a variety of facial products, such as masks, cleansers, and moisturizers except sunscreens.

With all this talk about externally applied natural oils for sun protection, it’s important to note that we also have control over how our skin reacts to the sometimes damaging effects of excessive UV exposure. Fortifying our diets with the right nutrients helps our skin to react completely differently to sun exposure.

One study showed that participants who were fed tomato paste daily showed a much higher tolerance to UV exposure than study participants that did not have this food. The reason for this has been identified as the nutrient lycopene, which is found most richly and commonly in red fruits and vegetables. Study participants showed a 33% improvement in the natural ability of their skin to respond to and properly process sun exposure without damage to the skin.

Adding more antioxidant-rich foods to your diet in general will also help you to increase your “internal SPF” because it helps your skin to naturally fight the free radical formation that accompanies excessive UV exposure. Daily consumption of a balanced diet with a variety of nutrients, accompanied with a high level of unprocessed, raw antioxidant rich foods will improve your body’s ability to properly handle sun exposure over time.
