What is the right amount of skincare products you should use?

καλλυντικά σωστή ποσότητα, cosmetics, right amount

Moisturizers: Quarter-sized amount

We are all guilty of being a bit heavy handed when it comes to applying moisturizers – but more isn’t necessarily better. Applying too much can actually limit the skin’s ability to properly absorb ingredients, causing an accumulation of product on its surface. The result: congested pores and lackluster skin. To get the most out of your moisturizer, apply an almond-sized amount to your face, neck and décolletage in gentle, upward sweeping motions.

Eye Creams: 1 full pump is enough for both eye areas

When applying eye creams, a pea-sized amount is plenty. Packed with vitamins and nutrient-rich ingredients, these formulas treat, protect and soothe the skin around the eyes, reducing the appearance of fine lines, dark circles and puffiness. The eye area should be treated with care – we recommend dispensing one pump of eye cream and gently patting it into the skin around both eyes to avoid pulling and stretching this delicate area.

Cleansers: 1/2 a pump or squeeze

Over time, using too much cleanser can compromise the skin’s ability to produce its own hydrating and balancing oils, leaving it feeling dry and irritated. On the other hand, using too little product can prevent a thorough cleanse, leaving behind dirt and debris that can clog and congest pores. We recommend using half a pump or squeeze of your favorite gel or cream cleanser to wash away buildup and keep the skin’s moisture barrier intact.

Exfoliants: 1-2 full shakes

Exfoliating is a key step towards achieving a bright and radiant complexion – but using more product won’t necessarily generate better results. To gently slough off dead skin cells and smooth your skin’s appearance, we recommend dispensing 1-2 shakes into the palm of your hand, adding a few drops of water, and gently massaging the paste into your skin before rinsing thoroughly.

Masks: Quarter-sized amount

Masks are lovely – and not just because our treatments look (and smell) good enough to eat! Masking is one of the most important steps you can take to see a change in your skin – these treatments contain concentrated amounts of vitamins and nutrient-rich ingredients that target a variety of skin types and concerns. So, before you slather an inch-thick layer of your favorite mask onto your skin, remember that a quarter-sized amount is just enough to deliver the results you’re after.

Toners: 3 spritzes

Toners, toniques and hydrating mists balance the skin’s pH after cleansing and prep it for better absorption of ingredients in the next steps of your routine. To leave skin glowing and refreshed, we suggest applying 3 spritzes of toner directly onto the skin, or moistening a cotton pad and gently sweeping it across your face and neck.

Oils, Serums and Concentrates: 3 drops (oils and serums) or 1-2 pumps (concentrates)

When it comes to oils, serums and concentrates, a little goes a long way. These treatments penetrate the skin, infusing it with vitamins, antioxidants and plant extracts, and are designed to target specific concerns like uneven skin tone, problem skin and the signs of aging. Because oils, serums and concentrates are so highly concentrated, you only need a small amount to experience their full benefits. We recommend pressing 3 drops of oil or serum into clean skin. For concentrates, even less is more – apply just 1-2 pumps for optimal results.
